The Henry Miller Wild West Weekend in Los Banos California was a real kick for the vendors who decorated their booths to look like they were from the 1800s. The OurLosBanos.com booth was decorated to look like a telegraph office because we felt that most closely tied in with what we do in modern times - connect people via electronic means.

Here you can see a closeup of the 'interior of our information booth. We built an A frame to hold up a paneled wall (note the molding detail at the top and at the base). Like any good old fashioned telegrapher's station we had to have a roll top desk. We got this one off of craigslist for a very good price. Note the telegrapher's key. That was supplied by one of our forum members named Dave Anderson. The rifle is a toy rifle built for one of the kids by my father and the signs in the booth were hand painted by my wife.

The hand crank telephone is an original from the 1800s and the Oliver Model Three typewriter is also the real deal. The sounding box, telegraph clicker, armature are also originals from early in the last century and we hooked them up to work with Mr. Anderson's telegraph key.

We had a lot of fun and people loved the booth.

Oh... and we are proud to say we won the best decorated information booth contest!
