On November 9th 2007 Veteran's Park was dedicated to the men and women who served in our armed forces. One of the City Councilmen who offered remarks that day was Joe Sousa who opined that it was fitting that the park which is free of playground equipment is a passive environment where people can sit and reflect. We Agree.

 

Veteran's Park is a nice place to go for some quiet solitude. It is an attractive park that has a gazebo and many benches. There is a small lawn area that surround two large flag poles.

Take some time to read the plaque that is on the pedestal in the Gazebo and remember our Los Banos Veterans.

The plaque which is located on a stone pedestal in the center of the gazebo reads:

In Memory of All American Veterans

This memorial honors all American Veterans who, although separated by generations shared a common undeniable goal - to valiantly protect our country's freedoms.

The memories of these American veterans will continue to live on whenever and wherever democracy exists.

The American veteran - forever a symbol of heroism, sacrifice, loyalty, and freedom.
