Copywork
is an easy way for your child to practice writing conventions and to also learn
grammar and spelling while practicing handwriting. Once you've been doing copywork
for awhile, you can progress to dictation. We will be adding an article with all
of the basics about these two homeschooling practices soon. In the meantime feel
free to download some copywork pages! MANY more are coming soon. Our
copywork pages are available in the following fonts: Zaner-Bloser style manuscript,
D'Nealian style print, Zaner-Bloser style cursive and D'Nealian style cursive.
*We are also now offering a Getty-Dubay style Italic print and cursive
due to an emailed request!

Examples
of the fonts we use
Coming
soon, Handwriting Without Tears (HWT) cursive font and line style! Our
youngest son is a leftie and just wasn't doing well with Zaner-Bloser cursive.
I used HWT with him for printing, but switched when it was time for cursive because
I didn't like the look of the Handwriting Without Tears cursive font. I have switched
him back over to HWT and we are again having handwriting success. Because of this,
I will be adding Handwriting Without Tears copywork / handwriting pages to the
printables below. I just need to find the time to do it! :-)

Choose
whichever "font" you prefer. Each copywork / handwriting practice page
has alternating lines of text and blank lines so it's easier and less frustrating
for your child to copy. Lines are sized the same as "wide rule" notebook
paper, which is 1 cm tall.
JennLovesJesus
requested some alphabet handwriting practice pages and so here they are! At
the top of each page are two very large letters in a "dot" font to trace
with room next to them for practice. Below is an empty space where your child
can practice the letters without lines (paint, pastels, crayons and markers are
suggested to make things "fun"). You can also use the space to draw
in or paste in clip-art and/or pictures from a magazine, etc. Underneath the empty
space are the two practice letters repeated. Lefties will appreciate the fact
that there is always a model letter to the right to look at. I've kept the pages
to a two letter maximum to keep handwriting practice from being overwhelming.

Sing
the Word - Great in Counsel and Mighty in Deed Memory Verses - Copywork
/ Handwriting Practice Click the link above to read more about
this CD and to hear samples of music.
These
verses are also songs featured on the Sing the Word CD. We've found the music
on the Sing the Word CD's to be a wonderful and VERY effective way for our children
(and mom even!) to memorize scripture. Copywork is listed in the order the songs
appear on the CD. Longer verses are broken into smaller parts. Although you don't
need the CD to accompany these pages, we highly recommend it.
Coming
soon (er...at least when I get around to it):
The
rest of Psalm 42 & Lots more
copy work!
