January 15 - is the deadline for applications for the 2010 Soroptimist Women's Achievement Award.   This is Soroptimist's premier award.   It is given to a local woman with demonstrated financial need who is the chief financial support for her family and who is trying to improve her life by being enrolled fulltime in college or vocational school.  This year's award is $1500, which is enough to truly make a difference in these women's lives, and the winner will be considered for Soroptimist regional awards -- a possibility of receiving nearly $15000!
