September 2 - The first Wednesday of each month is the regular dinner meeting night of the Los Banos Sportsmen’s Association. Guests are welcome.

September 3 -The Community Prayer Group is a non denominational group of people of faith from many different congregations who meet on the first Thursday of each month at 1PM. September 3 - Our Lady of Fatima is holding a Welcome Back Wildcat BBQ September 3, 2009, Thursday from 6-8 p.m. on the school grounds next to the playground.

Cheerleaders will perform at 7 p.m. w/ Wilbur the mascot.

OLF Cookbooks and Blue Paw merchandise will be sold .

Jamba Juice will be sold at the event.

September 8- Parent Talk a support group for parents of children with every kind of disability meets every second Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 250 West Adams from 1:00 p.m to 2:00 p.m. Child Care is provided. September 8- Challenged Support Group A parent support group offered through Challenged Family Resource Center. The group meets at St. John's Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m. every second Tuesday of the Month. All parents with a child or children with a disability are invited to attend. September 10 - Military Family Suppport Group meets at the Vagabond Inn at 7 p.m.

September 12 - New Bethany Marketplace will be held at 6 p.m. at the New Bethany Square. There will be the chance to try out a variety of gourmet cuisine as well as shop in the atmosphere of an old world village.

September 12 - Ham Radio Club Meeting will be held at the Police Annex Building across from City Hall.  7PM. May be precluded from time to time because of special events or 'pizza meetings' and 'fox-hunts'.

September 17 - Golden Age Club Dinner at the Exhibit Building at the Fairgrounds. Dinner will be tri-tip cooked by the Los Banos Firemen. No-host cocktails will start at 4:30 PM and dinner will begin at 7 PM. Tickets are $9.00 for non-members and $8.00 for members. You can purchase them at the Miller & Lux on or before Sept. 11.

September 19 - Lia's Dash will start at 7:30 a.m. Registration is $25 and will help not only Lia Brady, but also Caidyn Lee. Check-in and registration opens at 6 a.m. The course will be held at Gardens Park 5, 1525 Persimmon Way. Prizes will be awarded. For more info call Maggie at 209-489-7563.

September 19 - Elk's Black Hat Social will be held at the Delta Farms Party Barn at 13816 Bisignani Road. Cocktails will be served from 6 p.m. and dinner begins at 7 p.m. Dinner will be baby back ribs, chicken, beans and salad. Cost is $25 per person. September 19-20 "Cornucopia of Color" Pacheco Pass Quilters 2nd Annual Quilt Show -   It will be held at the Ted Falasco Art Center at 5th and K on September 19th and 20th.  The parking lot will be open for our guests.  Admission is $5.00 per person, good for both days. Hours are 10-4 on Saturday and 11-3 on Sunday.  We will have vendors (most will be selling fabrics, patterns, etc.) and a boutique selling hand made items.

September 19 - 30th Reunion for the Los Banos High School Class of 1979 will be held at Wool Grower's. Cost is $30. Email phyllisguaspari@yahoo.com for more info.

September 24 - Mason's open house will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Canal Farm Lodge. -Learn about the Mason's and their support of many projects like local scholarships and Shriners Hospital. September 25 - Salute to Seniors Fair will be held at the Los Banos Fairgrounds starting at 9 a.m. with a lunch at noon. Tickets are $8.00 and can be purchased at the Miller Lux building on Main Street. Vendor booths for the event are $60.

September 25 - Small Business Roundtable will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Memorial Hospital Los Banos Board room in the Administrative Support Services Building. This roundtable is free. Bring your own lunch. The floor will be open for discussion. Bring your suggestions and thoughts about what works well for businesses in Los Banos.

September 26 - Our Lady of Fatima School, Parents Club kicks off the Fall Season with the 3rd annual “Oktoberfest” Fundraiser Event on Saturday, Sept 26th from 6-9 pm at the school grounds (1625 Center Ave).  The event has been hugely successful with the community and is considered the premier beer tasting event of the area.  Oktoberfest will highlight samples of over 150 beers and select wines as well as 16 types of sausage and a variety of cheeses and appetizers.   There is a raffle and a silent auction as well as the “Home made Red Italian Sausage Contest”.  The contest was a huge hit last year and is back by popular demand.  Oktoberfest tickets are $35/person or $40 at the door.  They can be purchased at Our Lady of Fatima School or at Advanced Eye Care Associates at 1028 6th Street. Set up starts @ 5:30am - any booths not occupied by 7:30 may be re-sold!  For our dining convenience and yumminess the Rotary Club will be preparing their Pancake Breakfast in the Miller & Lux Building . It's available from 7:30 -11:00am.

The Golden State Gunslingers are holding their Lefty Manzanedo Memorial Pro-Am Shoot at the Street Faire.  You can Team up with a Pro Gunfighter for $10 (10shots).
You shoot "outlaw" style, (no holster, gun cocked in ready position), Pro shoots out of a holster.  Team with the fastest time (10 shots each) wins a belt buckle for the Pro and the Amateur. Enter as many times as you have $10 for charity. Source: email

September 27 - The Central Valley Fast Draw Club has made the last Sunday of each month their club shoot day!
Shoots will start at 9:30 am with the shooter sign in and shooter meeting, with a prompt start at 10 am.

September 30 - Freedom from Smoking Class starts at Memorial Hospital. This FREE seven week class, developed by the American Lung Association covers how to quit smoking, smoking triggers, relapse prevention, stress management and more. For more information, call (209) 826-0591, ext. 270.
