"Los Banos: The California State Park staff at San Luis
Reservoir State Recreation Area will again be leading the popular "Path of the
Padres" hikes on some Fridays and most Saturdays and Sundays starting February
28th and continuing until April 19th. " These hikes are open to the public,
ages 6 years and older, by advance reservation only. School group hikes may be
arranged for Fridays. School group reservations and general public reservations
are now open. (We must have ten people to conduct a tour). The hike begins at
the Los Banos Creek Reservoir boat launch ramp at 8:00 A.M. and returns to the
ramp about 3:30 P.M. A pontoon boat carries passengers for about 30 to 40 minutes
to the west end of the reservoir. Along the way, short stops are made so the hikers
can observe wildlife along the shoreline."

March 1 - The Annual Book and Rummage Sale at St. Alban's
Anglican Church will be held on March 7th from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A presale
will be held the night before, March 6th, from 5-8 p.m. The events will take place
at the Church Parish Hall located at 401 West L (corner of Illinois) in Los Banos.
Donations of clean usable items are welcome. Proceeds from the sale support the
numerous outreach programs of the Church. The Vicar/Pastor is the Rev. John Combs.

There will be an field trial at the Los Banos refuge
(off Henry Miller-Main refugee) starting on Friday and running through Sunday.
"This trial is being put on by the American Chesapeake Club. Trials are
a bit different than the AKC Hunt Tests you have reported on but you will see
fantastic dog and handler work with 4 different stakes running. Many professional
trainers and handlers will be there including those who are local and those from
Washington, Montana and Oregon to name a few. If you love the outdoors and
enjoy watching magnificent animals, you might want to stop by and see what's happening."
