April 1- 19 - February 28 - April 19 - Path Of The Padres Guided Hikes: See this post in the forums section for many more details included in the press release..
"Los Banos: The California State Park staff at San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area will again be leading the popular "Path of the Padres" hikes on some Fridays and most Saturdays and Sundays starting February 28th and continuing until April 19th. " These hikes are open to the public, ages 6 years and older, by advance reservation only. School group hikes may be arranged for Fridays. School group reservations and general public reservations are now open. (We must have ten people to conduct a tour). The hike begins at the Los Banos Creek Reservoir boat launch ramp at 8:00 A.M. and returns to the ramp about 3:30 P.M. A pontoon boat carries passengers for about 30 to 40 minutes to the west end of the reservoir. Along the way, short stops are made so the hikers can observe wildlife along the shoreline."

April 2 -The Community Prayer Group is a non denominational group of people of faith from many different congregations who meet on the first Thursday of each month at 1PM. April 4 - Santos Ford-Lincoln-Mecury Ribbon Cutting & Free Food and Entertainment
Come celebrate the new ownership at Santos Ford on Saturday, April 4th.
Starting at noon until 5pm there will be free hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and soda and at 2pm there will be a live remote radio broadcast, free entertainment, ribbon cutting by the Los Banos Chamber of Commerce and you can enter to win a free car.

April 4 - Annual Spring Cleanup from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Merced County Fairgrounds and also at Ranchwood Park. This is your opportunity to bring green waste and all the unwanted items you can't put into your regular garbage to the drop off. No household hazardous waste and proof of residency is required. It’s about babies from preconception to conception through pregnancy and birth.  It’s about healthy babies in Merced County and throughout the Valley.  You can help the Central Valley March of Dimes by participating in our Memorial Hospital Los Banos March for Babies Team Parking Lot Sale on Saturday, April 4th, beginning at 10am, at Memorial Hospital, 520 West “I” Street, Los Banos in the parking lot by Texas Street.  Lots of treasures will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the March of Dimes.

April 8 - Educational Fun Fest @ Merced College Los Banos Campus from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Community businesses and organizations will have tables and materials set up advertising businesses, services, products, scholarship opportunities, career opportunities, volunteer positions, local events and activities. April 8 - Community Solutions Hero Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Espana's (1460 E. Pacheco). Cost is $12.50 per person. April 19 - 20 - Los Banos Golden Age Club trip Reno Trip"We have a trip planned for April 19th and 20th. It is a Reno overnight bus trip which makes a stop at John Ascuaga's Nugget before arriving at the Silver Legacy Hotel and Casino for the night. On the return trip, we make a stop at Boomtown Casino before heading home. Cash and food credit is offered at all casino stops. The cost per person double occupancy is $92 and $117 for single occupancy. For more details, please stop by the Miller and Lux Senior Center for a copy of the itinerary. April 23 - Chamber Mixer - "The April (Spring Fever) Mixer is being co-hosted by Century 21 Ameri-Pro and Chili's on Thursday, April 23rd. It'll be held at Century 21; 923 E. Pacheco Blvd under the biggest flag in town. I hope to see you there as I'm sure a good time will be had by all. As with all Mixers we ask that you please bring a raffle prize of any value .... that way everyone walks away with a prize. You don't have to stay with the Spring Fever theme.

Writing Your Life Stories Class is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays by instructor John Spevak at the Los Banos Merced College Campus, Building A, Room 103. The class is open entry and held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Persons register when they attend their first class. This class provides the opportunity to write down stories in a relaxed environment about life experiences to share with others, especially family members. And working with other Veterans organizations for the betterment of the Veterans with special needs.

Free Noncredit class: Fitness for seniors (although class is open to adults of any age)
The class occurs every Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the instructor is John Spevak. The location of the class is Colorado St. Park (between J and Pine Streets). Participants will be involved in stretching and walking activities and other activities appropriate for older adults may be included for those who so choose. Teen childbirth education is offered at Memorial Hospital every Thursday afternoon from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Patients can enroll at any time by calling 209-826-0591, ext. 270.

Writing Your Life Stories Class is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays by instructor John Spevak at the Los Banos Merced College Campus, Building A, Room 103. The class is open entry and held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Persons register when they attend their first class. This class provides the opportunity to write down stories in a relaxed environment about life experiences to share with others, especially family members. Fridays:
"Fridays at the Fairgrounds" at the Fairgrounds from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Admission is free.

Every Friday afternoon, Memorial Hospital offers a free car seat safety check. Call for an appointment: (209) 826-0591 extension 270 or 356).

Senior's Arts, Crafts and Quilting Class from 9 AM to 12 noon and 1 PM to 3 PM. Classes are held at 830 6th Street. Call 827-7046 for more information.

Free Noncredit class: Fitness for seniors (although class is open to adults of any age)
The class occurs every Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the instructor is John Spevak. The location of the class is Colorado St. Park (between J and Pine Streets). Participants will be involved in stretching and walking activities and other activities appropriate for older adults may be included for those who so choose. Heart Saver CPR Class at Memorial Hospital. Classes are $10 and from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Earn a 2 year CPR card.

Fitness for active seniors class - This free class taught by John Spevak will be held at the Los Banos Merced College Campus. Classes start Sept. 3 and will occur every Wednesday and Friday morning from 8:30 -10 a.m. Classes will be held in room B-136.

Bethany Community Church has started a Christian youth book club. The club meets each Saturday at 4 p.m. at 401 West L St. The book club accepts members ages 13-18. The group is directed by Lori Kyle. For more information about the club or on how to join you can call Elvira Grimes at 489-4969.

Alcoholics Anonymous Serenity at Noon Group meets Mondays through Fridays in the recreation hall at 903 Pacheco Blvd. from noon to 1 p.m.
They also meet on Wednesday and Saturday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m.

Narcotics Anonymous meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Greyhound Bus Depot, 820 G St.
