Through June 20 The Los Banos PAL is "currently taking signups for Junior Giants baseball.  It is a COED activity for ages 5-13 years old.  This is a FREE activity sponsored by the San Francisco Giants.  It is non-competitive, we do not keep score, no-first and last place.  This is an activity for kids to learn the Junior Giants 4 bases of character development, leadership, confidence, integrity, and teamwork." May 8 - The school board is having a hold a public hearing at 7 PM , May 8, at City Hall, 520 J St. with regard to the district's proposed adoption of a school facilities needs analysis and of school facilities impact fees.

May 9 - High School Band BINGO at the Miller and Lux building. Doors are open at 5:30 p.m. with games starting at 6:00 p.m. Come join in the food, prizes and fun!

It is held at St. John's Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m. every second Tuesday of the month.  All parents with a child or children with a disability are invited to attend. May 16 - Portuguese bullfight (part of the DES Festa) to be held at the Los Banos Fairgrounds, A rosary and dance will follow.. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., bullfighting begins at 7:30

May 17 - California State Parks and Department Of Water Resources 19th Annual Kid's Fishing And Fun Day 8:00 AM till Noon as the San Luis Resirvoir's "San Luis Creek" exit on the North side of Highway 152- twelve miles west of Los Banos. Kids 3-15 years old accompanies by an adult are welcome. Cost is 6 dollars per Car. Free lunch for the kids and pontoon boat rides free bait for the kids and a free prize drawing! May 17 - Car and Bike Show which is to be a fund-raiser for Relay for Life at JC Penney parking (highway 152) . Registrationstarts at 9 a.m. followed by a bike run at 10 a.m. A BBQ will be held at 11 AM. The entry fee will be twenty dollars. Call for details at 1-408-710-1034 o 1-408-781-1604.

May 17 - "Please come and join us and buy some fresh baked goods at JC Penny's starting at 11:00 am in the morning in the parking lot... OLF 4-H is going to help and bake as well.... This is a really good cause... Thank you for your continued support in all we do in Los Banos...."

May 17 - Shout Arts presents a City Wide Los Banos Adult & Teen Talent Competition - Trophies to be awarded. Included Band, Dance - group/individual, instrumental, spoken word, overall performance. May 17 - Shout Arts presents a City Wide Los Banos City Wide Los Banos Junior and Youth Talent Search ages 4-12. certificates of achievement will be awarded to performers who may include dance, poetry, song, skits, and musical performances. 2 PM to 3PM Saturday May 17 at the Los Banos High School

May 17-18 DES FESTA! May 17 Rosary and dance May 18 Procession leaves DES Hall in the morning Mass follows procession Procession back to the DES Hall followed by sopas Auction in the afternoon, and dance at night. The traditional procession from the D.E.S. May 19 - Relay for Life is having the annual Bingo Night!! I go every year & I win two or more times!!! This is such a fun night please come out & join me in supporting a good cause. May 26 - If I heard this right - According to Tom Faria (during the may 7 Council Meeting) the veterans wil be putting on a Memorial Day Service at 09:30 AM at the Los Banos Cemetery may 26th.

Cost is$ $5.00 per person plus contribution of desert or salad. Bring your own plate and silverware. RSVP by the previous Monday.

May 29 - Los Banos Chamber Of Commerce Mixer at Las Palmas Restaurant 5:30PM to 7:00 PM 639 Ninth Street

May 30 - Mature Driver Class 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM there will be a class for mature drivers to refresh your driving knowledge and save you money on your insurance. A $2.00 certificate fee will be charged for the class. Please call 1-208-827-7046 to sign up.

Food costs $2 and you don't have to worry about the cleanup!

Cherish's exercise program for seniors meets from 10-11 a.m. at the McArthur Apartments on F Street.

Monday and Friday
Senior's Arts & Crafts and Quilting Classes at 830 6th street from 9 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 4 pm. (excluding holidays). Gloris is the instructor. Everyone is welcome. Bring your own project or work on a class project.

Monday:
Senior's Arts, Crafts and Quilting Class from 9 AM to 12 noon and 1 PM to 4 PM. Classes are held at 830 6th Street. Call 827-7046 for more information.

Park Day! Every Wednesday
- 10 AM - Mothers and children of all ages meet in the park to chat and let their kids play. Children of all ages are welcome from infant to seventeen. Click here for more information.

Childbirth Classes at Memorial Hospital from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Call 826-0591 ext. 270 for more information.

Free breastfeeding support group. 1 PM at the education center in Memorial Hospital. Meet with other moms and measure your baby's progress.

Safesitter Babysitting class at Memorial Hospital. A child must be at least 11 years old to attend and the class costs $20. The class is from 4 to 6 p.m. For more information call 826,0591, ext. 270.

Four-H meeting the first Wednesday of every month at the Parish Hall next door to St. Joseph's Catholic Church on center Street

Senior's Open Game Day - from 8 to 4 pm, the senior's center come on in and play games. Various games are available, so bring your freinds! Cofee is available.

Fridays:
"Fridays at the Fairgrounds" at the Fairgrounds from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Admission is free.

Heart Saver CPR Class at Memorial Hospital. Classes are $10 and from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Earn a 2 year CPR card.

Saturday and Sunday:

Alcoholics Anonymous Serenity at Noon Group meets Mondays through Fridays in the recreation hall at 903 Pacheco Blvd. from noon to 1 p.m.

Narcotics Anonymous meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Greyhound Bus Depot, 820 G St.
