The Bible In One Year Bible Reading For Day Number - 342 Hosea
-- 12{1} Ephraim
feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and
desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried
into Egypt. {2} The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will
punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense
him. {3} He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength
he had power with God: {4} Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed:
he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he
spake with us; {5} Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.
{6} Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on
thy God continually. {7} He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are
in his hand: he loveth to oppress. {8} And Ephraim said, Yet I am become
rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity
in me that were sin. {9} And I that am the LORD thy God from the land
of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn
feast. {10} I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied
visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets. {11}
Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in
Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields. {12}
And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for
a wife he kept sheep. {13} And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel
out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved. {14} Ephraim provoked
him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his
reproach shall his Lord return unto him. Hosea
-- 13{1} When
Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in
Baal, he died. {2} And now they sin more and more, and have made them
molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding,
all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice
kiss the calves. {3} Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud,
and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind
out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney. {4} Yet I am
the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for
there is no saviour beside me. {5} I did know thee in the wilderness,
in the land of great drought. {6} According to their pasture, so were
they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they
forgotten me. {7} Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard
by the way will I observe them: {8} I will meet them as a bear that
is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will
I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them. {9} O Israel,
thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help. {10} I will be
thy king: where is any other that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges
of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes? {11} I gave thee a
king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath. {12} The iniquity
of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hid. {13} The sorrows of a travailing
woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in
the place of the breaking forth of children. {14} I will ransom them
from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be
thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from
mine eyes. {15} Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind
shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring
shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure
of all pleasant vessels. {16} Samaria shall become desolate; for she
hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall
be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
Hosea -- 14{1}
O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
{2} Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away
all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
{3} Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will
we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless
findeth mercy. {4} I will heal their backsliding, I will love them
freely: for mine anger is turned away from him. {5} I will be as the
dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.
{6} His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree,
and his smell as Lebanon. {7} They that dwell under his shadow shall
return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof
shall be as the wine of Lebanon. {8} Ephraim shall say, What have I
to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green
fir tree. From me is thy fruit found. {9} Who is wise, and he shall
understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the
LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall
therein. Revelation
-- 2{1} Unto the
angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven
stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
{2} I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst
not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles,
and are not, and hast found them liars: {3} And hast borne, and hast
patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. {4}
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
{5} Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do
the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick
out of his place, except thou repent. {6} But this thou hast, that
thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. {7} He
that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him
that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst
of the paradise of God. {8} And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna
write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
{9} I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich)
and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are
the synagogue of Satan. {10} Fear none of those things which thou shalt
suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried;
and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will
give thee a crown of life. {11} He that hath an ear, let him hear what
the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the
second death. {12} And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write;
These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges; {13}
I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou
holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein
Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
{14} But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them
that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before
the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
{15} So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans,
which thing I hate. {16} Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly,
and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. {17} He that
hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that
overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone,
and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth
it. {18} And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These
things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and
his feet are like fine brass; {19} I know thy works, and charity, and
service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than
the first. {20} Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because
thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach
and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed
unto idols. {21} And I gave her space to repent of her fornication;
and she repented not. {22} Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and
them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent
of their deeds. {23} And I will kill her children with death; and all
the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and
I will give unto every one of you according to your works. {24} But
unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine,
and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you
none other burden. {25} But that which ye have already hold fast till
I come. {26} And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the
end, to him will I give power over the nations: {27} And he shall rule
them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers:
even as I received of my Father. {28} And I will give him the morning
star. {29} He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith
unto the churches. |
