The Bible In One Year Bible Reading For Day Number - 078 Deuteronomy
-- 33{1} And this
is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel
before his death. {2} And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose
up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten
thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them. {3}
Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at
thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words. {4} Moses commanded
us a law, even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob. {5} And
he was king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people and the tribes of Israel
were gathered together. {6} Let Reuben live, and not die; and let not
his men be few. {7} And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said,
Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be
sufficient for him; and be thou an help to him from his enemies. {8}
And of Levi he said, Let thy Thummim and thy Urim be with thy holy one, whom thou
didst prove at Massah, and with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;
{9} Who said unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither
did he acknowledge his brethren, nor knew his own children: for they have observed
thy word, and kept thy covenant. {10} They shall teach Jacob thy judgments,
and Israel thy law: they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt sacrifice
upon thine altar. {11} Bless, LORD, his substance, and accept the work
of his hands: smite through the loins of them that rise against him, and of them
that hate him, that they rise not again. {12} And of Benjamin he said,
The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him; and the LORD shall cover
him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders. {13}
And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the LORD be his land, for the precious things
of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath, {14}
And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things
put forth by the moon, {15} And for the chief things of the ancient
mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills, {16} And
for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and for the good will
of him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph,
and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.
{17} His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are
like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the
ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the
thousands of Manasseh. {18} And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun,
in thy going out; and, Issachar, in thy tents. {19} They shall call
the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness:
for they shall suck of the abundance of the seas, and of treasures hid in the
sand. {20} And of Gad he said, Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad: he
dwelleth as a lion, and teareth the arm with the crown of the head. {21}
And he provided the first part for himself, because there, in a portion of the
lawgiver, was he seated; and he came with the heads of the people, he executed
the justice of the LORD, and his judgments with Israel. {22} And of
Dan he said, Dan is a lion's whelp: he shall leap from Bashan. {23}
And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favour, and full with the
blessing of the LORD: possess thou the west and the south. {24} And
of Asher he said, Let Asher be blessed with children; let him be acceptable to
his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil. {25} Thy shoes shall
be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be. {26}
There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy
help, and in his excellency on the sky. {27} The eternal God is thy
refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy
from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them. {28} Israel then shall
dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and
wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew. {29} Happy art thou, O
Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help,
and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars
unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places. Deuteronomy
-- 34{1} And Moses
went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah,
that is over against Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of Gilead,
unto Dan, {2} And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh,
and all the land of Judah, unto the utmost sea, {3} And the south,
and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, unto Zoar.
{4} And the LORD said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham,
unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused
thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither. {5}
So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to
the word of the LORD. {6} And he buried him in a valley in the land
of Moab, over against Beth-peor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this
day. {7} And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died:
his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated. {8} And the children
of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping
and mourning for Moses were ended. {9} And Joshua the son of Nun was
full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children
of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses. {10}
And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew
face to face, {11} In all the signs and the wonders, which the LORD
sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to
all his land, {12} And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great
terror which Moses shewed in the sight of all Israel. Luke
-- 2{1}
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus,
that all the world should be taxed. {2} (And this taxing was first
made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) {3} And all went to be taxed,
every one into his own city. {4} And Joseph also went up from Galilee,
out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called
Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) {5}
To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. {6}
And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she
should be delivered. {7} And she brought forth her firstborn son, and
wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was
no room for them in the inn. {8} And there were in the same country
shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. {9}
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone
round about them: and they were sore afraid. {10} And the angel said
unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which
shall be to all people. {11} For unto you is born this day in the city
of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. {12} And this shall be
a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in
a manger. {13} And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of
the heavenly host praising God, and saying, {14} Glory to God in the
highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. {15} And it came
to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said
one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is
come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. {16} And they
came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
{17} And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which
was told them concerning this child. {18} And all they that heard it
wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. {19}
But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. {20}
And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that
they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. {21} And when eight
days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called
JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
{22} And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses
were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;
{23} (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth
the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) {24} And to offer a sacrifice
according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves,
or two young pigeons. {25} And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem,
whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation
of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. {26} And it was revealed
unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the
Lord's Christ. {27} And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and
when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of
the law, {28} Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and
said, {29} Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according
to thy word: {30} For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, {31}
Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; {32} A light
to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. {33} And
Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.
{34} And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this
child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which
shall be spoken against; {35} (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy
own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed. {36}
And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of
Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her
virginity; {37} And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years,
which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night
and day. {38} And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto
the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
{39} And when they had performed all things according to the law of the
Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth. {40}
And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace
of God was upon him. {41} Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year
at the feast of the passover. {42} And when he was twelve years old,
they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. {43} And when
they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind
in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it. {44} But they,
supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought
him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. {45} And when they found
him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him. {46} And
it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in
the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. {47}
And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. {48}
And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why
hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
{49} And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that
I must be about my Father's business? {50} And they understood not
the saying which he spake unto them. {51} And he went down with them,
and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these
sayings in her heart. {52} And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature,
and in favour with God and man.
