Los Banos California is home to the Los Banos Municipal Airport in Ca. This is a small general aviation airport that services the community and the general vicinity. Parks and other services are close by.

The LB Airport is one of the many "100 dollar hamburger" aviation-stops in the Calif. San Joaquin Valley. That is to say that there are many aviators out there who will drop into town and take a short walk to get a bite to eat at one of the many Los Banos dining establishments.

There is the tiny "Airport Park" on premises where fliers can barbecue themselves something to eat while sitting at the picnic bench watching their fellow aviators come and go.

Just to the south of the Airport is a strip of grass called Wolfsen Park which we found to be a nice place to go take photographs of arriving aircraft as they fly right over your head.

As mentioned above our Airport is pretty close to a fair number of Los Banos restaurants. In addition the Airport is within MY walking distance of a grocery store, a movie theater, a small JC Penny's, a very small Sears store, and a WalMart.

The Los Banos Airport is a low-key place that has a nice little air conditioned pilot's lounge and offers folks who make a fuel stop a place to get sodas and use the restroom facilities. I am not a pilot (oh how I wish I was, I'd take some good aerial photos of Los Banos for this site) but in the time that I spent at the Los Banos airport I found that the pilots, aviation buffs, and other folks that I ran into were very friendly and helpful.

The asphalt runway is approximately 3005 x 75 ft and sports a full return taxiway. The facility reportedly operates 24 hours a day.

Fuel service for 100LL and Jet-A is available.

There are soda machines available behind the small but clean pilot's lounge.

Users of the airport have been asked to keep in mind the following:

• NO DEPARTURES OVER HOUSING AREAS TO EAST OF THE AIRPORT.
• AVOID OVERFLIGHT OF HOUSES SOUTH OF THE AIRPORT
